This year we excitedly entered 2025 only for Joe to be diagnosed with testicular cancer eleven days in. The first five months of the year was filled with uncertainty, worry and a lot of sleepless nights as we navigated Joe’s ongoing fatigue while running a business and attending appointment after appointment. Thankfully after surgical intervention, we got the news that Joe was in partial remission by May and full remission by August. We’re still so grateful for those who showed up or even just checked in with us throughout this time! Lulu and Sasha are finally getting their own human! Our biggest adventure yet starts in April 2026 💛 The magical mountainous town of Ella. Home to the nine arches bridge, waterfalls, tea plantations and some of the highest concentrations of oxygen in the world. It’s been incredible exploring this biodiverse hotspot and obviously trialling a curry… or 20. Our safari at @yala_national_park_ has by far been the most mesmerising adventure this trip. We were informed that it is never a guarantee to see animals on any Safari, especially leopards due to their shy and stealthy behaviours. However we were lucky enough to hit the wildlife jackpot! Did the tourist thing and hung out of the Kandy > Ella train. Another journey ticked off the bucket list! Enamoured by the ancient settlement of Sigiriya, meaning lions rock. We’ve watched the local toque macaque monkeys run an absolute muck, scaled Lion’s rock and taken in the ruins left by King Kashyapa (who was was bit of an arsehole anyways) over 1500 years ago!
