Rosedale Farm has justifiably earned the reputation of being one of the most beautiful properties in all of Australia. This historic homestead and gardens have been renovated into the aesthetic masterpiece it is today by famous Australian interior designer, Steve Cordony and his partner Michael Booth.
The historic homestead located just 7 kilometres north of Orange, NSW, captivates its admirers with expertly curated gardens, historic grandeur, impeccable decor and its mesmerising monochrome palette which extends to all animals living on the farm too!
“lovingly restored with an European influence interior and garden, which pays homage to the heritage of the property while bringing it into the contemporary world”
-ROSEDALE FARM
This year, Rosedale Farm has begun opening its gates to the community and garden lovers alike to tour the garden and home surroundings. Offering live entertainment, local artisan food stalls, a nursery and rare white peacocks, this truly is every garden lovers dream.
The iconic Steve Cordony and Mike Booth are also present, answering questions about everything from the restoration process, to giving tips on how we can also achieve the same ‘instagramable’ facade with our own homes! And if that isn’t exciting enough, you’ll be happy to know that the garden tours are to continue through to next year in 2025 and hopefully beyond! Here’s what to expect.

Getting a ticket
It is only within the past year that Rosedale farm has sold tickets to the public to tour the gardens and surrounds. So far the garden tours are offered twice a year with the tickets being released around three months in advance. The tickets do sell out quickly so it is worth signing up for a subscription on their website, or following them on social media to be amongst the first to known.
The tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased on the Rosedale farm website. Children are welcome however, they will also require a ticket. Rosedale’s gates open at 10am sharp and close at 4pm. All visitors are able to park their cars in the front paddock on the day.
What to expect
The garden and home
Upon entry, you will be given a beautifully illustrated map of where all areas of the property are located. The main areas to visit include the front garden area and pond that views the main home, the pool lawn and orangery, guest house and poultry pen, a one acre market garden and nursery and farm paddocks that display the couples beloved animals such as Ebony and Brave the Clydesdale horses and Sir Camelot the camel. You can freely walk around such areas as long as the gates are open.
As you walk around Rosedale farm, your mind will be blown away by the sheer attention to detail within each facet of the property. Make no mistake, this is the benchmark of landscape design and restoration in Australia. Even the grass that can only be compared to carpet trails around undulating displays of floral arrangements in ways only a true visionary could conjure. The resident white peacocks ostentatiously display their intricately adorned feathers and scenery that appears to have been pulled straight out of a Homes to Love Australia magazine (probably because it has), it’s easy to understand why the property is followed by home and garden enthusiasts all over the globe.
Stalls and entertainment
Food and wine stalls can be found on the front lawn between the homestead front and pond and are provided by local vendors. Here you can find food ranging from gourmet curries to freshly baked pastries in addition to wine, limoncello spritz’s (a personal favourite), and even clothing. The same area is also shared with local musicians who create a dulcet atmosphere that is enjoyed by all throughout the day.
Furthermore, you can find the Rosedale Nursery located just North of the market garden. Here you can find an abundance of plants for sale that are mostly propagated and had topiary crafted by Mike Booth himself from the grounds of Rosedale. The display is stunning and allows you to take a piece of Rosedale home with you. There are a number of golf buggies running on the day and after a plant is purchased they are taken to the front gate where they can be collected via your car upon leaving.
Steven Cordony and Michel Booth
If you have never heard of Steve Cordony before, you have been hiding under a rock. Cordony is a leading interior designer and event stylist for Australia’s leading interior design magazine, Belle. Working with brands such as Land Rover and Ralph Lauren, his style is well sort after and followed in the luxe design industry – in fact he is one of the ten most followed Australian men on instagram. Steve’s domain is styling the house and its interior, in addition to styling the outdoor dining areas for events such as weddings and his design masterclasses.
Meanwhile Mike Booth looks after the outdoors, tending to the gardens and their design, with a focus on sustainability. In fact prior to purchasing Rosedale in 2017 after 3.5 years of searching for the “perfect property”, Mike began propagating plants such as English buxus on his Surry Hill’s apartment balcony which have been used to populate a majority of the Rosedale garden as seen today – the true genius behind the garden tour.
