Nested in the luscious landscape of the mysterious Blue Mountains, this gorgeous (and tasty) glasshouse dining experience attracts thousands of people from around New South Wales every year.
About the Sorensen’s glasshouse and gardens
It’s like stepping into a fairytale, the enchanting and unique build provides the perfect atmosphere to truly sit back, relax and enjoy dining experience that consists of Eucalypt forest and the native floral masterpieces of Leura.
Established in 1920 by Danish botanist, Paul Sorensen, the glasshouse used to be a charming abode for the gardener and his family up until his death. Alexandra Munro and her partner, John Klugt were drawn to the beautiful destination and bought the property, opening Sorensen’s glasshouse and gardens in 2019. Earning its name as one of the best cafes in the Blue mountains, the cafe is a must visit for those who relish in nature and food.

The menu
The menu boasts fresh foods that are grown around the Blue mountains region, whilst delicious coffee is brewed using ethical coffee beans by Little coffee co.
Catering for both breakfast and lunch, you can expect to find simple yet mouth watering options on the menu. With bright and colourful dishes ranging from house made granola and belgian waffles to slow cooked beef briskets and mountain wellness bowls, theres an abundance of dishes to choose from.
Everytime I have gone to Sorensen’s glasshouse it is always filled to the brim with people with no seats to spare. For this reason I recommend booking a table the day prior to guarantee a spot!
