Today marks four wonderful years of being married to my gorgeous husband. It’s also been four years since we stood upon dramatic cliffs of the iconic Greek Island of Santorini, overlooking the Agean sea and sunset as we declared our vows in front of our closest family and friends. Call me biased, but our wedding day was perfect, and writing about it allows me to live the day all over again!
Getting ready
I got ready in the most quintessentially Greek villa in Perissa. Accompanied by my mum, dad, sister and sister-in-law, we popped a bottle (or two) of Moët, and met with my incredible photographer, Alexandra Eleftheraki along with my make up artist and hair stylist, Renia, who both made the getting ready process an absolute blast. We took to the roof top that overlooked the Southern village and completed a bridal photoshoot whilst sharing laughter and excitement.

Meanwhile on the other side of the Island, Joe, his brother and dad got ready in the ever so iconic Oia.

The Venue
Our venue took place at Le Ciel – also known as heaven on earth. Melted into the cliffs of Imerovigili, Le Ciel overlooks the Agean Sea and volcanic caldera. I cannot even imagine a better venue to celebrate the best day of our lives. Kostas Korakas decorated our venue and arranged my bouquet using the most exquisite display of florals and greenery creating a jaw – dropping and intimate vista. If this wasn’t already enough, the spectacular staff made our day extra special by making sure our glasses were full (metaphorically and literally) the whole time. Le Ciel also held our reception which involved providing an award winning three course meal made of Santorini’s local produce. I can certainly confirm that Le Ciel lives up to its reputation of having the best cuisine in all of Santorini.

The ceremony
We arrived at our venue in the afternoon prior to golden hour. We were so fortunate to have 17 family and friends from all over the world join us on the day and celebrate us. Joe’s brother is a vicar and therefore we had the privilege of having him marry us at the alter which only made the day extra special. Although he wouldn’t be a true brother without slipping in a few humorous jokes at Joe’s expense.

I had the honor of my sister being my bridesmaid and my dad walk me down the aisle.

The celebration begins
After sharing our vows and some laughter, I had married to the man of my dreams. We were waltzed to the cliffs below by our photographer to take some photos prior to sunset. When we returned, we were pleasantly greeted by our family, friends and bottomless champagne. The atmosphere was magic and we made the most of every last minute.

The night went on
We spent the rest of the night at our reception which was held at the same venue. The staff at Le Ciel announced sunset, calling us to the balcony to witness the incredible display – when you’re getting married at a destination known for having the best sunset in the world it is an absolute must do! Luckily for us it was one of the best sunsets of the year. This was confirmed by the audible gasps of our guests as we watched the Agean be sprayed in golden hues as the last light of the day slowly grew into a deep orange before vivd stars took the sky.
